White bean hummus
This is a quick and easy recipe for a white bean (or cannellini bean) hummus perfect for an aperitif with friends or as a protein complement in a vegan bowl with vegetables. If you like this recipe as much as I do, you absolutely must try this chickpea hummus, or this sunflower seed cream or this creamy guacamole.
Why you'll love this smoked tofu recipe
- Easy: it is very quick and easy to prepare this light and light white bean hummus. You don't necessarily have to resort to your bimby to prepare it.
- Quick: you can use canned cannellini beans to make your hummus and get a delicious result.
- If you want without tahini: If you wish, you can also prepare your cannellini hummus without tahina. Of course, you won't get quite the same result because it is the tahina (which is a cream of toasted sesame seeds) that makes this cannellini dip creamy.
Here are all the ingredients you'll need
- 400 g cannellini beans
- 1 Tbsp. tahina sauce
- 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 2 lemon wedges
- salt and pepper to taste
Preparation (step-by-step)
1.Put the cannellini beans in a colander and rinse them under running water.
2. Put all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
3. Remove your cannellini hummus from the blender with a spatula and serve on a plate.
4. Your cannellini bean cream is ready to be enjoyed.
5. Decorating your hummus - Decorate your hummus by creating a circular spiral shape on the surface of your cream. Use the 'spiral' as a guide to arrange your toppings.
I used these toppings: oven spiced chickpeas, chilli flakes, fresh herbs, pomegranate and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
Storage tips
If you don't consume your hummus right away, store it in a refrigerator container/jar.
