Sunflower seed dip
Sunflower seed cream is a recipe made from sunflower seeds left to soak for a few hours. It should be served cold and is perfect for spreading on a sandwich or using as a dip during an appetizer. If you are looking for other creamy finger foods for appetizers with friends, try this one as well and Chickpea hummus, this white bean hummus or this carrot hummus and roasted almonds.
Here are all the ingredients you'll need
The ingredients to make your hummus from sunflower seeds are very simple and you can see them in the picture or in the list below
- 300g Sunflower seeds soaked for 2 hours or overnight
- 2 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon nutritional yeast
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- Garlic
- Vegetable milk
- Juice of 1/4 lemon
- Salt & pepper
Preparation (step-by-step)
1. Put all the ingredients in a blender
After draining and rinsing the soaked sunflower seeds. Then put all the ingredients in a blender.
2. Mix!
Blend all the ingredients in the blender for a few minutes or until you get the desired consistency. If you find that your sunflower paste is too thick, add some oil or vegetable milk.
3. Put the cream on a plate and garnish
Help yourself with a spatula to "spread" the sunflower cream on a plate. Push toward the edges to give a nice look. Then garnish with colorful elements: I used olive oil, paprika powder, cilantro and pomegranate.
4. Enjoy your meal!
Your sunflower cream is ready to be served. I like to dip crackers in it, particularly my seed crackers!
Storage tips
You can store your sunflower seed cream for 3-4 days in an airtight container and in the refrigerator.
