Vegan bean burger

Hi amicə!!! I hope you are well and that summer is progressing in the best way for you. Today I present to you a classic of vegetarian and vegan cooking: The vegan bean burger (because hamburger we can't call it anymore lol).

This is a very simple recipe and one that you can customize with vegetables you have left over in the fridge. Just start with a base of beans and oatmeal and let your imagination run wild! Here are the ingredients I used for the patty (you can also find them listed below in the full recipe):

  • 5.29 oz baked beans (even from the can is fine)
  • 2-3 handfuls oatmeal
  • 1 leek (small to medium size)
  • 1 handful walnuts
  • Salt and pepper to taste

What you can pair your vegan burger with

Although I risk being trite, there is nothing better than a burger accompanied by fries and mayonnaise! I am also convinced that if the chips and mayonnaise are prepared at home, the result is even better.

That's why on my blog you will find 2 recipes for making crispy baked potatoes and a vegan mayonnaise that will be ready in 3 minutes. Here are the links to the recipes:

Here are the steps (with photos) to make your own veggie burger

Put all the ingredients for the burger in a blender and blend for a few seconds. I like to let the ingredients that make up the burger patty still show through.

With slightly damp hands form your bean burger patties. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes on entrami in a nonstick skillet with a drizzle of oil.

Wash the salad, cut your onion and tomato slices, and make the vegan mayonnaise

Make up your burger however you like (in the full recipe below I teach you a foolproof way to melt your veggie cheese).

Here you have all the info to make these amazing vegan bean and leek burgers! Have fun in the kitchen

Ingredients

For the burger

  • 150 g 5.29 oz cooked beans (even from the can is fine)
  • 2-3 handfuls oat flakes
  • 1 leek (small to medium size)
  • 1 handful 1.23 oz walnuts
  • 2 burger buns

Spices

  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp dried herbs (I used dried bear garlic).
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

To stuff the burger

  • 2 slices vegan cheese
  • 2 tsp vegan mayonnaise
  • 2-4 slices tomato
  • as needed red onion (cut into round slices)
  • 2 bay salad

Instructions

To prepare the burger

  • Wash the beans and roughly chop the leek.
  • Put all the ingredients for the burger and spices in a blender.
  • Mix all the ingredients for a few seconds. I like not to chop too much and let you still recognize the ingredients that make up the burger.
  • Wet your hands lightly and form burger patties slightly smaller in diameter than the bun
  • Cook the bean patties in a nonstick skillet with a drizzle of oil for about 5 minutes per side.

To stuff the burger

  • Cut the tomatoes and onions into rounds.
  • Wash and dry the salad.
  • When the burgers are ready. Heat a frying pan and place the vegan cheese on it for a few seconds holding a corner with two fingers. then place the slice in the burger.

I hope so much that tia liked the recipe! See you soon <3
