How to prepare homemade vegan bacon

pan-fried vegan bacon

For this vegan amatriciana recipe we replace the guanciale with homemade vegan pancetta! I too was a bit skeptical, but I invite you to try making this alternative bacon and be surprised. You can find the recipe here or by clicking on the photo to the right: homemade vegan bacon recipe

Keep in mind: the veg bacon will need to be cooked in a separate pan from the sauce so that it reaches the right crispness. Find all the details for making divine veg bacon in the post linked above.

If you don't have time to make your own veg bacon, you can replace it with smoked tofu, seitan, or a veggie bacon alternative found at the supermarket.
