Equipment

  • 1 saucepan
  • 1 ladle
  • 1 glass jar with lid

Ingredients

  • 700 g 24.69 oz washed strawberries roughly chopped
  • 50 g Chia seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Agave syrup (optional)

Instructions

  • Wash the strawberries and chop them coarsely. If you prefer jam without too many pieces of fruit, you can also blend your strawberries.
  • Put the strawberries in a pot and let them cook over medium-high heat.
  • When you see the strawberries begin to soften, mash them well with the help of a potato masher. let them cook for a few more minutes.
  • Once a smooth, liquid consistency is reached, remove the pot from the heat and add the chia seeds.
  • Let it sit for at least 2-3 hours so that the chia seeds can activate and create the jelly-like effect of the jam we seek.
  • After the 3 hours have passed, put the jam into two jars and store them in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.

Notes

  • I used no sugar for this jam but the recipe also lends itself to larger amounts of sugar
