Equipment
1 saucepan
1 ladle
1 glass jar with lid
Ingredients
700
g
24.69 oz washed strawberries
roughly chopped
50
g
Chia seeds
1
Tbsp
Agave syrup (optional)
Instructions
Wash the strawberries and chop them coarsely. If you prefer jam without too many pieces of fruit, you can also blend your strawberries.
Put the strawberries in a pot and let them cook over medium-high heat.
When you see the strawberries begin to soften, mash them well with the help of a potato masher. let them cook for a few more minutes.
Once a smooth, liquid consistency is reached, remove the pot from the heat and add the chia seeds.
Let it sit for at least 2-3 hours so that the chia seeds can activate and create the jelly-like effect of the jam we seek.
After the 3 hours have passed, put the jam into two jars and store them in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
Notes
I used no sugar for this jam but the recipe also lends itself to larger amounts of sugar
