Equipment

  • 1 non-stick frying pan
  • 1 bowl for leaving the bread soggy
  • 1 strainer for sprinkling powdered sugar

Ingredients

  • 2 slices thick bread (approx. 4-5 cm)
  • 300 ml vegetable milk (any vegetable milk will do) (10.14 fl oz)
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp powdered cinnamon
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2-3 1.23 oz walnuts vegetable butter

For the toppings

  • 1 Tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp whipped vegetable cream
  • 1 handful frozen berries (or not)

Instructions

  • In a wide but high-sided bowl pour the milk, cornstarch, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix everything together with a whisk.
  • Place the two slices of bread in the milk and soak it on both sides. Then let it soak in the milk for at least 30 minutes, changing sides occasionally.
  • Then heat a nonstick skillet and melt the vegetable butter.
  • Once the butter is completely melted, toast your bread slices in the pan on each side for about 5 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  • Decorate your French toast with a sprinkling of powdered sugar, a dollop of vegetable cream and the berries.
  • Bon appetit!
