Today we are preparing a fresh <strong>vegan watermelon and feta salad<\/strong>, also known as \"Greek salad.\" Even for this delicious watermelon recipe you will need little time and few ingredients. I topped my salad with a tahina dressing that is always a guarantee!<br>Watermelon is a fruit that I find spectacular. The color it has is unparalleled, not to mention its sweetness and light texture! In this post I will tell you about some of the <strong>watermelon properties and benefits<\/strong>. I will then explain to you <strong>what tahina is and where you can buy it to make this watermelon salad with feta and mint.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Properties and calories of watermelon<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Watermelon or also called watermelon is a fruit rich in water. It is also for this reason that we are often able to eat large quantities of it without feeling overly full\u0259. This makes me think of a dear friend of mine, who eats an immense amount of watermelon in summer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, I certainly don't want to incite you to splurge on watermelon like she did. I'm just saying that containing 95 percent water it is definitely a boon, especially in the warmer months in which it is important to stay hydrated\u0259. Besides that, watermelon is rich in antioxidants, one of them being lycopene. The latter contributes to watermelon's classic red color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before discussing the calories of watermelon, I would like to make two introductions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The first is that I am neither a nutritionist nor a dietician or anything else. <\/li><li>The second is that I have never counted the calories of what I eat and never will.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I share this information because I think it can be useful to many\u0259 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As mentioned above, watermelon is composed mainly of water. This makes it not only thirst quenching but also low in calories. In fact, 100 grams of watermelon contains only 30 calories.<br>It is therefore important to realize that this fruit can never be a complete meal. It can, however, be a good choice for when you are in the mood for a light dessert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tahini sauce and where to buy it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tahina is a <strong>sesame seed-based cream\/paste<\/strong> and is a popular ingredient in Middle Eastern cuisine. It is the ingredient that makes such soft <a href=\"https:\/\/luvvelovesfood.com\/en\/hummus-di-ceci-la-ricetta-originale\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hummus<\/a> or babaganoush. I use tahina very often to make sauces for salads or to dress vegetables.<br>You will be able to find this fantastic sesame paste in almost any supermarket. If you have the chance, however, I recommend that you go and buy it at a <strong>Turkish or Middle Eastern store<\/strong>. In fact, in these stores they often have a large number of brands from which you can choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tahina must be processed before it is consumed. Whether it is in a sauce, or in a recipe for hummus. If you have never tried tahina, don't be frightened if you don't like the strong taste it has while still in the jar!
